The 2024 Guangdong Provincial High-quality Development Conference was held on February 18 in Shenzhen, the city known as the innovation hub of Guangdong. The conference highlighted Guangdong's commitment to boost high-quality economic development.

In an exclusive interview with SFC, Klaus Zenkel, Vice President of EU Chamber of Commerce in China, expressed his observation of Guangdong’s high-quality development. Having witnessed Guangdong’s achievements in innovation capability, Zenkel told us that more EU enterprises are setting up R&D centers and innovation hubs in the region, especially in Shenzhen.

“They're doing R&D work not only to add on to their global portfolio,” Zenkel said, “but they would develop new products entirely here and go global with it.”
