Home prices in major Chinese cities dropped for the fourth straight month in October, with more cities reporting falls, official data showed Thursday.
Prices of new homes in 70 medium and large cities fell 0.4 percent month on month, the most since a 0.5 percent decline in February 2015, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Thursday. Prices fell 0.3 percent in September.
Fifty-six of the cities tracked saw prices of new homes fall last month, two more than in September, while prices of lived-in homes fell in 67 cities, versus 65 in September.
"The lackluster home price data reflects a fluctuating home market, but it was also a result of big discounts given by developers and local governments," said Yan Yuejin, director of Shanghai-based E-house China Research and Development Institute.
Among first-tier cities, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen new homes in October recorded month-on-month price declines ranging from 0.4 percent to 0.7 percent. Prices, however, rose in Shanghai by 0.2 percent. Prices fell 0.2 percent in second-tier cities and by a sharper 0.5 percent in third-tier cities.
Second-hand home prices in tier 1 cities fell 0.8 percent versus a 0.2 percent increase in September, with the declines in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen ranging from 0.5 percent to 1.1 percent.
The data comes after the statistics bureau reported a contraction in property investment on Wednesday. Real estate investment fell by 9.3 percent in the first 10 months compared with a year earlier, worsening from a 9.1 percent contraction in the first nine months.
Home sales at the country's top 100 developers slumped by 27.5 percent year on year in October to 406.7 billion yuan, according to data compiled by the China Real Estate Index System. However, sales rose by a 0.6 percent from September.

数据显示，10月，70个大中城市商品住宅销售价格环比下降城市个数略增，9 月新建商品住宅价格环比上涨有15城，到了10月，则下降为11城。
各线城市商品住宅销售价格环比下降。具体来看，10月份，一线城市新建商品住宅销售价格环比由上月持平转为下降0.3%，其中北京、广州和深圳环比分别下降0.4%、0.7%和0.5%，上海环比上涨0.2%；二手住宅环比由上月上涨 0.2% 转为下降0.8%，其中北京、上海、广州和深圳环比分别下降1.1%、0.8%、0.8%和0.5%。
二线城市新建商品住宅销售价格环比下降0.2%，降幅比上月收窄0.1 个百分点；二手住宅环比下降0.5%，降幅与上月相同。三线城市新建商品住宅和二手住宅销售价格环比分别下降 0.5% 和 0.6%，降幅比上月分别扩大0.2和0.1个百分点。
10月，70个大中城市中，新建商品住宅和二手住宅销售价格环比下降城市分别有 56个和67个，均比上月增加2个。
各线城市商品住宅销售价格同比涨跌互现。具体来看，10月，一线城市新建商品住宅销售价格同比上涨0.4%，涨幅比上月回落0.3个百分点。二线城市新建商品住宅销售价格同比上涨0.3%，涨幅比上月扩大0.1个百分点；二手住宅同比下降3.3%，降幅比上月扩大 0.1个百分点。三线城市新建商品住宅和二手住宅销售价格同比分别下降1.5%和3.6%，降幅均比上月扩大0.1个百分点。
10月，70个大中城市中，新建商品住宅销售价格同比下降城市有47个，比上月增加2个；二手住宅同比下降城市有67个，个数与上月相同。
此外，国家统计局15日数据显示，今年1-10月份，全国房地产开发投资约9.59万亿元，同比下降9.3%；全国商品房销售额约9.72万亿元，同比下降4.9%。尤其是在月度销售指标上，在9月边际改善后，10月再度滑坡。
易居研究院研究总监严跃进认为，10月房价指数下跌城市数量有所增加，或和各地四季度放松限价政策有关系，说明房价让利优惠空间大，购房的性价比进一步提高。
严跃进认为，各地在消化既有的政策基础上，进一步让利促销是比较主流的做法，有助于增强购房者的入市积极性。总体上此类价格的调整是合理的，是供求关系变化下的正常体现。各地要把好的购房政策和性价比高的购房价格做结合，做好四季度的营销工作。
APEC should uphold open regionalism and maintain the primary status of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area (FTA). All parties should avoid creating closed and exclusive “small circles” within the region, Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen said at the 34th APEC Ministerial Meeting held in San Francisco on Tuesday to Wednesday.
The RCEP and CPTPP are two possible paths for the Asia-Pacific FTA jointly identified by APEC economies’ leaders. It is necessary to adhere to openness and inclusiveness, continuously promote the expansion process, and benefit more economies, Wang said.
It is necessary to prioritize development, giving full consideration to the interests of developing economies, and especially groups such as women. All parties should harness the potential of green and digital technologies, promote the trade of environmentally friendly products such as photovoltaics and new energy vehicles, reduce trade barriers, and strengthen cooperation on standards in relevant fields, Wang said.
China is willing to engage in practical cooperation with more APEC economies in the areas of digital economy and green development, Wang noted.

Xiamen, capital of southeastern China’s Fujian Province, lifted all restrictions on home purchases of the entire city on Wednesday. Downpayment ratios and mortgage rates for first and second homebuyers will be lowered in the downtown districts of Siming and Huli, the city said. Families with more than one child who buy a second home will still be treated as first-home buyers, with an downpayment ratio of 25 percent.
厦门全面解除限购：11月15日，厦门优化房地产政策，其中，在此前岛外放松限购的基础上，对于岛内也放松了限购，全市限购措施全面解除。同时，降低思明区、湖里区购房首付比例和贷款利率，首套住房商业性个人住房贷款最低首付款比例为25%，二套住房商贷最低首付款比例为35%；同时，对多子女家庭购买的第二套住房认定为首套，购买的第三套住房认定为二套。

The Digital Currency Institute of the People's Bank of China and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) are carrying out the second phase of technical testing on the use of digital yuan in cross-boundary payments, involving more banks in Hong Kong and the use of the Fast Payment System to top up digital yuan wallets, an official from the Hong Kong SAR said on Wednesday.

Xiaomi's two pure electric vehicles appeared in the latest new car declaration catalog released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, likely means that the firm is about to start mass production. The Chinese handset giants’ SU7 and SU7 MAX inclusion in the catalog, which was issued yesterday and lists new models that have passed official tests and certifications and are about to be put on the market. According to data by the MIIT, Xiaomi's EVs will be made by BAIC Rover, a unit of Beijing Automotive Group, the Chinese partner of Mercedes-Benz.Xiaomi cars will use battery titan CATL’s lithium-ion batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries provided by EV and battery giant BYD's Ferdi brand.

TikTok’s sister app for the Chinese mainland Douyin has started to test a payment mode for short drama content, starting from 10 cent per episode,mediareported on Wednesday. The company will also charge 30 percent in technical support fee from content creators if they choose to post videos as paid content. Meanwhile, Douyin announced today it has recently removed 119 micro-short plays from its platform for rule violations. Nearly 1,190 accounts were also penalized for having promoted such 119 micro-short plays, Douyin added.
抖音测试付费短视频：11月16日据报道，抖音开始测试短视频内容付费，即用户在观看创作者的内容时，部分内容需要付费解锁才能全部观看，涉及范围不仅包括此前已经进行付费试水的短剧领域，还拓展至知识、娱乐等几乎全品类内容，用户可按单条内容付费。观看一条付费内容需要支付1抖币，而用户在抖音充值1元可获得10抖币。用户观看付费视频时，平台不支持录屏。视频内容付费服务可由创作者自行开通，在网页版抖音创作者中心上传视频后即可进行相关设定，平台将收取30%技术服务费。此外，11月16日，抖音发布《抖音关于打击违规微短剧的公告》，公布近期累计下架小程序内违规微短剧119部，处置违规推广微短剧的抖音账号1188个。
China’s oil and gas major Sinopec said late yesterday its 9,432 meters deep oil and gas well has become operational. Located in the Tarim Basin in northwestern China's Xinjiang, the Yuejin 3-3XC is Asia's deepest oil and gas well on land, with daily output expected to reach 200 tons of crude oil and 50,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

Chinese electric car maker XPeng saw its third-quarter net loss widen by 63.4 percent yearly to 3.89 billion yuan due to costs stemming from a production ramp-up amid intense domestic competition. Revenue for the quarter increased by 25 percent yearly to 8.53 billion yuan, though it slightly missed analysts' estimates of 8.55 billion yuan. XPeng expects deliveries in the fourth quarter to grow at least two-fold to 63,500 units. It expects revenue for the current quarter to be 13.6 billion yuan at most.
小鹏Q3营收同比增长25%：11月15日，小鹏汽车发布第三季度财报。财报显示，小鹏汽车第三季度营收为85.3亿元，同比增长25.0%，环比增长68.5%；净亏损为38.9亿元，同比增加63.6%，环比增加38.6%。车辆交付方面，第三季度小鹏汽车总交付量为40008辆，同比增长35.3%，环比增长72.4%。小鹏汽车上调四季度业绩指引，预期交付量达59500~63500辆，同比增长约168%至186%，预期总营收为127亿元~136亿元，同比增长约86.1%至99.3%。
JD.com saw 33 percent growth in net profit to 7.9 billion yuan during the third quarter, while net revenue reached 247.7 billion yuan, representing a yearly growth of 1.7 percent, according to the e-commerce firm’s earnings report released yesterday. It was also announced by JD.com that its chief executive, Sandy Xu Ran, will serve concurrently as chief executive of JD Retail, the retail segment of the company. Meanwhile, JD Logistics swung to a net profit of 214 million yuan in the third quarter from a loss of 287 million yuan during the same period last year. Revenue amounted to 41.7 billion yuan, representing year-on-year growth of 16.5 percent. As of the end of September, the firm has more than 1,600 warehouses operated by itself and over 2,000 warehouses operated by third parties, covering almost all cities nationwide.

Shares of China Huarong Asset Management surged as much as 30 percent today after the country's biggest state-owned bad loans manager said it will buy a 5 percent stake in conglomerate Citic for HKD13.6 billion and rename itself to China Citic Financial Asset Management. China Huarong penned an equity transfer agreement with state-owned investment company Citic Group, its largest shareholder with a 26.5 percent hold, and its subsidiary Citic Polaris to acquire the equity at HKD9.35 per share, China Huarong announced late yesterday.

The PBOC on Wednesday injected a net 600 billion yuan into the banking system through the medium-term lending facility (MLF), the highest level in seven years, which analysts believed to be a result of the substantial issuance of local government bonds and banks showing more robust demand for liquidity. The central bank conducted 1.45 trillion yuan of one-year MLF loans to cover 850 billion worth of MLF loans maturing Wednesday. Moreover, the PBOC conducted seven-day reverse repos worth 495 billion yuan to offset a maturing balance of 474 billion yuan, resulting in a net injection of 21 billion yuan.
央行MLF净投放6000亿元：11月15日，央行网站发布公告称，当日开展4950亿元公开市场逆回购操作和1.45万亿中期借贷便利（MLF）操作，利率分别为1.8%、2.5%，均与上期保持一致。数据显示，11月15日有8500亿元MLF到期，为年内最大规模的到期量。而人民银行当日开展1.45万亿元MLF操作，其规模也为今年以来最大。分析表示，目前，同业存单利率、国债利率中枢抬升，高于MLF利率，反映近期银行体系对中长期限资金需求有所增加。
股市收盘情况
Chinese stocks fell on Thursday as the benchmark Shanghai Composite slipped 0.7 percent and the Shenzhen Component shed 1.2 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index also sank 1.4 percent and the TECH index dropped 1.9 percent.
A股走低港股收跌：周四A股集体收跌，截至收盘，沪指跌0.71%，深成指跌1.23%，创业板指跌1.85%。两市成交额8506亿元，较上一交易日缩窄1394亿元；北向资金净卖出近22亿元。港股高开低走，恒指收跌1.36%，恒生科技指数收跌1.85%。
